Throughout this project, the main focus was to create a room drawn in perspective (either 1-point or 2-point) using linear perspective techniques as a guide to creating simple and complex forms situated in a constructed space. This is to be a private creative interior space. While using essential elements to arrange the space, I must add:
1. An architectural detail.
2. An object that defies gravity in some way.
3. An object that signifies an activity such as work or play.
4. A personal item (no larger than a person).
Overall in this assignment, I wanted to create a room where I would feel relaxed and sufficient to spend high amounts of time relaxing and getting creative work done. The general idea is to create an entertainment and soothing environment on the oceanfront. Drawing this in one perspective gave this a sense of depth that I think works really well with the view looking out into the sunsetting covered ocean. Creating this aquarium and record player were two of my favorite pieces to work on. These are two things I have always wanted but never had in real life. Being able to create them in this composition is inspiring to see the realism and fact that I could one day truly relax within this room. By using triangulation and line weight, I feel this room gained a sense of realism and life.
