Concept Statement
For this project, I constructed a composition that visually illustrated my idea of a deep space. By creating layers within Adobe Illustrator, I used paper layering techniques to emphasize and exaggerate a sense of depth and space. I introduced the element of light in my composition to test how it could be used to activate materials and ideas.
This composition visually conveys the idea that daily struggles are a natural part of life, and our thoughts, emotions, and perspective play a crucial role in how we approach them. Through a layered paper technique, the piece depicts a human brain encapsulating a mountain range, emphasizing the connection between our thoughts and struggles. The image serves as a metaphor for the vast challenges we face and the determination required to overcome them. The introduction of light reveals a hidden feature - a figure atop the tallest mountain holding a boulder above their head - symbolizing hope and endurance arising from persistence and perseverance.
