Concept Statement
Throughout the project, the main focus was on constructing ideas with intentional craft in material exploration. The goal was to challenge oneself to have an eye for craft and a disciplined process. In A4, the aim was to observe and interpret 2D composition and then transition each into a 3D composition while defining connections between 2D shapes and 3D forms. The main intention was to examine faces and the volume of these forms through craft.
By applying these goals to the crafting of the form net, essential orthographic drawing techniques were practiced along with their application related to perspective drawing. Each form was evaluated as a greater whole and from various perspectives, and this led to ideation of new goals. Through class discussions and critiques, newly learned vocabulary was used to express these ideas.
